Last Call MLS: Another Talking Point

WASHINGTON, DC (Sept 4, 2008) USSoccerPlayers -- Colorado gets another chance to prove it really hasn't all gone horribly wrong, and your Player of the Month is Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
Dallas - Colorado
8:30pm - ESPN2
With ESPN's A-announce team already in Cuba along with the rest of the American press contingent who are oddly fascinated with this particular trip, we get an ESPN2 Primetime Thursday that most might conveniently overlook.
After all, The FC and the Rapids aren't exactly lighting up the moribund West these days. For those otherwise occupied, Dallas is fourth and wouldn't make the wildcard slots if the season ended today. Colorado is not the worst team in MLS, a point behind San Jose for bottom of the West and the League.
The three points on offer tonight could push Colorado from last to third, with an odd weekend ahead where most MLS clubs will be undermanned. FC Dallas would also take third with the win.

Columbus is the best team in the LEague and their best player is your August MLS Player of the Month. Congratulations to Guillermo Barros Schelotto, the king of the meaningful assist.

Earthquakes Move
Two new players for San Jose, and no need for trading draft picks and/or allocation money to get the deals done. Then again, we are talking developmental contracts. Midfielder Michael Ghebru and forward Davide Somma are the lucky additions, with Ghebru taking an international slot.
