WASHINGTON, dC (Oct 8, 2008) USSoccerPlayers -- In today's roundup of press release material, the Earthquakes have something very important to tell us tomorrow afternoon and Real Salt Lake does some stadium prep.
Mystery Announcement
The San Jose Earthquakes will be making what they've termed "an important announcement involving a European soccer club." Kind of kills the suspense for those that were thinking stadium, designated player, or some combination. Anyway, by 5pm tomorrow we should all be made aware. That's at the latest considering that nobody in MLS seems capable of keeping their mouth shut around one or many insiders with access to the internet.
Warren Out
New England backup keeper Doug Warren is out for the season after hyper-extending his elbow during a Tuesday training session. Warren was called into service in August while Matt Reis was injured, starting twice. He also appeared for the Revs in the Open Cup and Champions League.
Line It Up
Perhaps as you're reading this, our friends in Salt Lake are watching in respectful silence as their "pristine pitch" (their words, not ours) is lined for the first time. We can only hope they mean soccer lines. We kid. Or excitement level is set firmly on hyperactive pre-schooler as we await tomorrow's exciting stadium premier.
